We’re excited to announce a local lottery player has won an amazing £2,000 cash prize.

Joyce from Buckhurst Hill has won a £2,000 cash prize after matching 5 numbers while supporting the Bedford House Community Association, a Buckhurst Hill based charity. Her win highlights the growing success of the Epping Forest Community Lottery in supporting local good causes while rewarding lottery players.

Since its launch in August 2024 the Epping Forest Community Lottery has raised over £30,000 for local good causes.

To win £2,000 was unbelievable

I joined the Epping Forest Community Lottery about a year ago, after hearing about it from an email I received from Bedford House. I joined because it gives support to Bedford House, who I believe are a great asset to the community, to help with their rising costs. I especially enjoy their Pilates class and have taken part in various other courses that they run too.

I pay £10 per month to be in the Epping Forest Community Lottery and was delighted to be a winner. To win £2,000 was unbelievable, I had to check and double check that it wasn’t a scam!

From my winnings I have given a donation to Bedford House. I will also give some to my daughter, and the balance can go towards some vein treatment I am booked to have.

I would recommend others to sign up to the lottery. The money is used to benefit many local community programmes and projects, and you also stand the chance of being a winner, like me.

Lovely to hear our supporters win

Joining the lottery was a no brainer. It has been a very positive experience and is lovely to hear when our supporters win. Joining was very easy and only involves minimal administration by us.

With 50% of ticket sales coming back to the charity, the funding from Epping Forest Community Lottery has enabled us to continue to run our weekly community crafting sessions. Last year we were also lucky to receive a small grant from the lottery fund which meant we could offer extra subsidised Seated dance sessions plus we are about to launch subsidised Walk, talk and tea guided walks sessions. Both are only possible to offer at low or reduced fees thanks to the funding.

We would definitely recommend being part of the lottery.
