Echo Finance has appointed Jim Wortley as adviser development manager as the Mirfield-based mortgage brokerage continues to expand its adviser team.
The firm said its advisory headcount has recently grown to 74, with plans to increase that number to 100 by the end of the year.
Wortley (pictured) will be responsible for overseeing the management and development of new brokers joining Echo, working alongside the firm’s other adviser development managers, Neil Mulhearn and Tom Henderson.
He has 40 years’ experience in the industry and is returning to Echo Finance, where he previously worked as a self-employed mortgage broker before joining Ingard Financial.
Before his first spell with the West Yorkshire firm, Wortley lived and worked in Spain for 20 years, providing mortgage advice and building a reputation in the local market.
Lee Trett, director and co-founder of Echo Finance, said: “We jumped at the chance to welcome Jim back to the Echo family and felt that this role was befitting of his vast experience in the industry and his knack for helping other brokers fulfil their potential.
“Jim is returning to us at an exciting time for our brokerage. Not only are we recruiting new advisers en masse, we have exciting new projects in the pipeline that will take our brokerage to new heights, and expanding our Adviser Development team was crucial to that.”
Echo Finance was founded by Trett and John Tarazi in 2012. Its advisers specialise in mortgages, equity release, commercial finance, protection insurance and other areas.
