The Dallas Cowboys are trading cornerback Nahshon Wright to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for cornerback Andrew Booth, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported.
The trade will be final “pending physicals,” Pelissero noted.
Wright recorded five combined tackles in 12 appearances for the Cowboys last season, while Booth made eight in 17 games.
Both were listed as backups on the teams’ first unofficial depth charts of the season.
The trade will increase the Cowboys’ 2024 cap by $400,000 while decreasing the Vikings’ by the same amount, per Spotrac.

Dallas adds $400k of 2024 cap, while Minnesota saves around that same amount this season.
On the Vikings’ unofficial depth chart, Booth was listed behind starters Shaq Griffin and Byron Murphy, Jr. as well as backups Akayleb Evans and Fabian Moreau.
The Cowboys meanwhile listed Nahshon Wright as a backup option behind Trevon Diggs, Jourdan Lewis and DaRon Bland.
Wright was selected by the Cowboys in the third round of the 2021 NFL draft.
He is the second top-100 pick from that draft to be traded away from Dallas, which dealt No. 44 pick Kelvin Joseph in another cornerback swap with the Miami Dolphins last year.
He will now join his cousin Mekhi Blackmon in Minnesota, although the injured cornerback is set to miss the entirety of the 2023 campaign with an ACL tear. Wright could end up being key in filling in for Blackmon’s absence.
Wright told Blackmon on X that the two would play together “in due time.”
Booth was a second-round pick by the Vikings in the 2022 draft.
After a rookie season limited by injuries, he struggled to climb the Minnesota depth chart. He could get another chance in Dallas while working with defensive backs coach Al Harris, who is known for his work developing Diggs into one of the Cowboys’ stars.
It is not yet clear if either cornerback will be available for their new teams’ preseason openers. The Vikings open the preseason Saturday against the Las Vegas Raiders, while the Cowboys are slated to take on the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
