Wimbledon 2025 prize money: Payout breakdown as stars compete for record winnings

The world’s best tennis stars are competing for a record amount of money at Wimbledon this year. 

Carlos Alcaraz is aiming to win his third-straight Grand Slam title at SW19 following back-to-back final wins over Novak Djokovic.

For his success last year, Alcaraz claimed a whopping £2.7million, with women’s champion Barbora Krejcikova receiving the same amount.

But this time around, players have the chance to win even more…

Wimbledon 2025 prize money 

The total prize pot for Wimbledon this year is £53million.

That is a record amount for this Grand Slam, increasing from £50m in 2024. 

The winners of the men’s and women’s singles will pick up £3m, which is an 11 per cent increase from the winnings last year.

Runners-up are going to take home £1.52m, while semi-finalists claim £775,000. 

Quarter-finalists are awarded £400,000, with those who lose in the fourth round at Wimbledon leaving with £240,000.

Third-round and second-round losers receive £152,000 and £99,000 respectively.

Meanwhile, those who are knocked out in the first round take home £66,000, which is a 10 per cent increase from last year.

There is also an increase of 4 per cent for men’s and women’s doubles champions as they win £680,000.

Wimbledon 2025: Date and how to follow 

Wimbledon begins on Monday, June 30, with the tournament lasting two weeks and coming to a close on Sunday, July 13.
