The founder of a community hub has praised the “amazing” response of locals after a donation box was stolen.
RUSH 2The DEN in Rushden, Northamptonshire, provides a youth club for children aged five to seven, adult-and-baby play sessions, children’s parties, food donations and counselling.
Nina Robinson said the money in the box, thought to be between £400 and £600, would have helped pay to furnish a mezzanine level being built at the site.
Since the theft, she said it had been “amazing” how people had “clubbed together to give whatever they can afford”.
