A mum shared a clever 2p pusher game technique at the arcade which could potentially boost your chances of winning big – and it took her 33 years to figure it out

There’s nothing quite like a trip to the seaside at the weekend. A portion of fish and chips, perhaps a pint at the local pub, rounded off with a leisurely stroll along the seafront – it’s hard to beat.
For many, no coastal visit would be complete without a trip to the arcade. The games are undeniably addictive and great fun, but winning anything – let alone a decent prize – can feel near impossible. Now, one woman has revealed it took her 33 years to discover a nifty little trick with the penny pushers that could significantly improve your chances of walking away a winner.
In an Instagram post shared with her 8,500 followers, Emily wrote: “How has it taken me 33 years of living in a seaside town to learn this hack?”
The mum also captioned the post: “Good job we live near the best arcades in the world – @llandudnopier.” The clip shows her dropping in several coins simultaneously to dramatically increase the chances of pennies tumbling to the bottom.
Ordinarily, players feed in one coin at a time and simply hope for the best – but Emily’s bold approach paid off handsomely. The same technique can also be applied to the 10p pusher machine.
Llandudno Pier, situated on the North Shore promenade in Conwy, holds the title of the longest pier in Wales. Two arcades, Leisure Island and The Deck Arcade, can be found there, both brimming with classic games.
Leisure Island also boasts a prize shop where visitors can swap their tickets for goodies ranging from sweets and board games to cuddly toys and much more. Scooping a big win on a 2p pusher is no mean feat, but there are specific ways to boost your chances.
How to double your chance of winning at the arcade:
Claw machines are notoriously tricky to conquer, with one expert recently revealing their three top tips for coming out on top.
Start by targeting the limbs and homing in on the smaller parts of the toys — that’s where your real chances of winning lie.
The expert suggested that to get the best grip, the claw needs to close completely around the plush toy, such as around the head.
Next, perfect your technique by trying the “swinging” method to alter the rotation of the claw.
By manoeuvring the joystick in a swinging motion, you can position the claw directly over the smaller part of the toy’s body.
And finally, before you even dream of victory, make sure you pick the right toy.
