SWR achieved the gold certifications in the “people” and “wellbeing” categories, recognising its commitment to its staff and workplace culture.
The double gold accreditation marks significant progress for SWR, which was awarded silver in 2021.
SWR was commended for its focus on nurturing talent, celebrating staff achievements, and providing development opportunities.
The company said it has continued to engage staff with initiatives such as the Leading Our Journey to Better scheme and SWR’s Anti-Abuse and All Aboard campaigns.
Sharon Johnston, SWR’s people and transformation director, said: “Over the past three years we’ve invested heavily in our people, our culture and our leaders and this recognition shows that our colleagues feel the difference.
“Achieving double Gold accreditation from Investors in People is a fantastic achievement and a clear reflection of how far we’ve come as an organisation.”
SWR also runs an apprenticeship scheme to provide training and experience for young people entering the railway industry.
In 2022, the scheme was extended to include applications from 16 to 18-year-olds.
SWR also expects to receive the results of its assessment in the apprentices category in the new year, when it hopes to achieve a further Gold accreditation.
