SEBI has launched the ‘Tarun’ project for the Mutual Fund industry. Speaking about the initiative at its launch, SEBI Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch said it is designed to promote financial literacy and encourage retail participation in the mutual fund sector. Comparing it to children playing with pieces of Lego to build something larger, Buch said the project enables investors to ‘touch, feel and experience their investments’. She added that the small denomination SIPs under the project will foster responsible investing and will empower investors by providing them with the necessary knowledge to make informed decisions regarding their investments.
