Most employees take those shiny brochures from their workplace pension provider and shove them in the drawer without ever giving them a second thought.
After all, some day in the long-distant future, the retirement lifestyle touted by those brochures, with a handsome older couple in matching nautical jumpers at the helm of a sailing boat or holding hands on an exotic beach, will magically materialise.
