Media organisation Future has appointed ITV Studios’ Sharjeel Suleman as its new chief financial officer. Mr Suleman will take over from Penny Ladkin-Brand, who is leaving the business on July 28.

Mr Suleman has been ITV Studios’ finance chief for five years and has also held a variety of senior finance roles at the organisation, including director of group finance and director of investor relations.

He will join Future, which has UK offices in Bath, Cardiff and London, in “due course”, the company said on Friday. Deputy chief finance officer Jean du Preez will lead the finance function during the interim period.

Jon Steinberg, Future plc chief executive, said: “We are delighted that Sharjeel will be joining us. He brings fantastic industry experience from his roles at ITV, in particular driving growth across international markets, and I know he will be a strong addition to the Future team. I would also like to thank Penny for her support since I joined last year, I wish her every success for the future.”

Mr Suleman added: “I’m very much looking forward to joining Future. The media industry is one that I’m very passionate about and the opportunity to work with Jon, and the wider executive team at Future, as they embark on this next chapter is one that I’m very excited about and look forward to being part of.”
