Ja’Lynn Polk is headed to the New Orleans Saints.

The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reports that the New England Patriots are trading the wide receiver and a 2028 seventh-round pick to the Saints in exchange for a 2027 sixth-round pick.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero provided some more context on the trade.

“Trading players on IR is rare, but permitted. Ja’Lynn Polk gets a fresh start, the #Patriots get a little future draft compensation and unload over $2 million in guaranteed money, and New Orleans gets a low-risk flier on a player with two budget years left on his rookie deal,” Pelissero wrote.

Polk ends his time in Foxborough with just 12 receptions for 87 yards. Prior to the 2025 season, he was placed on injured reserve after having undergone shoulder surgery.

And with this move, that leaves only two members of the 2024 Patriots draft class who remain on the roster: QB Drake Mate and OL Caedan Wallace.
