Over five decades after Jimi Hendrix first rocked the cover of Rolling Stone, fans are finally getting a new chance to celebrate the iconic guitar legend. Launching in June and now available to preorder, Hendrix is getting his very own 2025 Rolling Stone collectible trading card collection for the true music-loving collector.
A Rolling Stone, Authentic Hendrix, and Super Products collaboration, the 2025 Rolling Stone Jimi Hendrix Keepsake Premiere Edition features six specialty cards, all of which look like they could be on display in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The Jimi Hendrix collectible series comes in a sleek premium wooden display case, ideal for keeping the new collectibles safe and sound. The series is the true definition of limited edition – only 500 master case were produced in the world, meaning that there are only a few chances to snag a complete set.
“When Jimi picked up his guitar or composed amazing songs, he wasn’t setting out to become a super star! He wanted to bring something beautiful to the world — to leave a lasting impression,” says Janie Hendrix, president & CEO of Authentic Hendrix. “Being featured on the cover of such a respected brand as Rolling Stone was mind-blowing and we are excited to commemorate that event in Jimi’s life. We are equally thrilled to partner with Rolling Stone and Super Products to introduce a legacy collection of beautifully artistic cards that will be celebrated and valued for years to come.”
The Rolling Stone Jimi Hendrix collectible card collection only features six designs to a case, and includes treatments such as Rainbow, Swirl, Ice, Sheen, Fireworks, and the one-of-one Vinyl – all blind-wrapped and set with a mix of gems including diamonds, rubies, platinum, and even gold.
“Partnering with Super Products allows us to honor Hendrix’s groundbreaking creative contributions and launch a new category of Rolling Stone collectibles designed to echo the ethos of the brand and resonate with music fans around the world,” says Thomas Ferguson, VP, Licensing, Partnerships & Consumer Products, Penske Media Brand Group, in a release.
The Jimi Hendrix collectible release comes just a few years after Rolling Stone put Hendrix at the top of our updated list of the 250 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. “Jimi Hendrix lighting his Fender Stratocaster on fire at Monterey Pop is one of the most iconic images in rock history,” Rolling Stone said at the time. “He was a showman who played with his teeth or behind his back. But underneath all the theatrics is the true master of the instrument. His career may have lasted eight years, but musicians spend a lifetime studying his dazzling technique and improvisational genius.”
Fans can now preorder the Jimi Hendrix Keepsake collection, starting at $100 per card or $600 for the six-card case, at keepsaketradingcards.com.
