Priced out of living in Dublin, more and more people are commuting long distances to work. They’re trading time for money, but is it ultimately worth it?

The road is still dark as Nicola Walsh, a legal professional and mother of two, begins her 225km round-trip to Dublin. By 7am, she’s at her desk.
She’ll work through a tightly packed day, then leave at 3:50pm to collect her children from creche before dinner, homework and bedtime. Tomorrow, her husband will make the same journey while she stays back to manage the morning routine.
