THE world’s top players are in China hoping to bring back a large sack of cash.
The Xi’an Grand Prix 2024, the second ranking snooker event of the 2024-25 season, is now well underway and offers players a nice incentive to bring their A game.
The likes of Ronnie O’Sullivan, Judd Trump, world champion Kyren Wilson, Mark Allen and Stuart Bingham are all in China.

What is the Xi’an Grand Prix 2024 prize money?
The 2024 event is the inaugural tournament and is offering a big wedge to the players involved.
The total pot is a whopping £850,000, including a £5,000 bonus for the highest break.
The breakdown is as follows:
- Winner: £177,000
- Runner-up: £76,000
- Semi-final: £34,500
- Quarter-final: £22,350
- Last 16: £14,000
- Last 32: £9,400
- Last 64: £5,350
- Highest break: £5,000
Xi’an Grand Prix 2024 information, dates and schedule
The qualifying for the tournament took place in Leicester from July 23 to 25, with the tournament starting in China on Monday, August 19.
There will be one round played per day with the final to take place on Sunday, August 25.
Early sessions start at 7am BST with the later sessions at 12.30pm – in the latter rounds there will only be late sessions.
Matches are best of nine until the semis, which are best of 11, while the final is best of 19.
The Xi’an Grand Prix 2024 will NOT be broadcast on British or European TV after no broadcaster picked up the tournament.
However, snooker fans can tune into Matchroom’s YouTube channel and social media for coverage.
