ALL £87,500 of the Celebrity Traitors prize money will go to winner Alan Carr’s selected charity.
Over 11 million people tuned in to watch the gripping finale of Celebrity Traitors UK on the BBC last night.
Comedian Alan Carr left fellow survivors Nick Mohammed and David Olosuga astonished when he revealed he had been a Traitor all along.
It was a moment no-one saw coming, not even Carr himself who said: “I’m clearly a better liar and Traitor than I thought I was.”
He avoided detection when he murdered two Faithfuls in plain sight earlier in the show and came out victorious despite being a 6/1 outsider to win.
As per the show’s rules, if a single baddie remains when the game ends, that Traitor would be crowned the winner, hence Alan taking all the prize money for his charity.
Where does the Celebrity Traitors prize money go?
The prize money will go to the winner of the murder mystery show Alan Carr’s selected charity.
Carr chose to donate all of the cash to children’s cancer charity Neuroblastoma UK.
Their goal is to find effective treatments and ultimately a cure for every child diagnosed with neuroblastoma.
The charity has been active since 1982 and has funded up to £10 million to help children in this time.
How much money was in the prize pot?
The maximum available prize pot going into the show was £100,000.
However, the final amount was determined by the celebrities’ success in completing challenges throughout the series.
During the finale, the remaining contestants increased their prize pot by £20,000 after completing their dramatic final mission which was to retrieve money bags from a train which was due to explode.
Across the course of the show, the prize pool increased to £87,500 which was the final sum that went to Carr’s chosen charity.
