Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman has been caught on camera giving that infamous Joachim Low clip a run for its money.
The European Championships have started like a house on fire, with goals galore in the first two days of the 2024 finals. In its latest instalment, the Netherlands got their first three points on the board in Group C, fighting back from a goal down against Poland at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg thanks to efforts from Cody Gakpo and second half substitute Wout Weghorst. However, another major talking point has emerged from the game for all the wrong reasons.
Footage has emerged of Dutch gaffer Ronald Koeman picking his nose and eating his boogers and wiping them on his shirt before returning to the touchline to bark out orders at his players. The incident was picked up on by an eagle-eyed user of X on social media, and it quickly went global.
Major betting outlet Paddy Power then got in on the act, reposting the video along with the message “Jogi Low finally upstaged”. That was in reference to an infamous clip of the former Germany manager that surfaced during the European Championships in France back in 2016.
During a group stage victory over Ukraine, Low was caught on live television sniffing his hands after sticking them down his trousers and later had apologised for his unpleasant actions.
It remains to be seen as to whether ex Barcelona star Koeman will have to come out and defend himself for a clip that is likely to follow him for the rest of his career.
