Manchester City are set for a major Financial Fair Play (FFP) boost after winning the Premier League title on Sunday.
The Blues were the favourites to win a record-breaking fourth consecutive league title heading into the final day of the season. All they needed to do was beat West Ham United to finish top and they got off to the best possible start as Phil Foden thundered home a strike inside two minutes.
Just 15 minutes later, it was two as Foden turned in Jeremy Doku’s cross to put City in dreamland. Shortly before the interval, things started to get nervy as Mohammed Kudus’ acrobatic effort pulled the visitors back into the game.

However, City managed to settle their nerves on 58 minutes as Rodri crashed home a brilliant strike. As the club celebrates a fantastic achievement, attention will turn to the prize money that is coming their way.
Based on the figures from last season, the Blues have banked £62.3m for winning the Premier League. They shall also receive a whopping £31m from their domestic TV deal and around £63m from their international rights.
City will also receive approximately £9.5m in ‘merit payments’, a £6m central payment and an extra £1.2m for each game that has been broadcast on television. When this is all totted up, City could receive around £143m for this season alone.
What this figure does not take into account is the money raised for reaching the Champions League ‘league phase’ this season. City shall gain €15.64m (£13.44m) just for qualifying, a figure which increases with each victory in the competition during the 2024/25 campaign.
