A number of Premier League stars are set to earn more than Kylian Mbappe at Real Madrid – including Kai Havertz and a pair of Chelsea players.

The 15-time European champions confirmed the signing of the World Cup-winner on a five-year contract on Monday. The French striker will officially join the La Liga giants on July 1, the day after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires. Earlier this year, the 25-year-old announced he would be leaving PSG in the summer.

As a free agent and considered the world’s best striker, Mbappe is expected to receive an astronomical signing-on fee, with reports ranging from £80million to as much as £128million. However, his weekly wage will be relatively modest £250,000 after tax, with up to 10 Premier League players earning more.

Leading the list in the English top-flight is Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne on £400,000, closely followed by Etihad team-mate Erling Haaland on £375,000, according to Spotrac. The first non-City players are Manchester United’s Casimiro and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, both on £350,000.

A couple of Chelsea players are next on the list, although only one still plays for the club, and even his future looks uncertain. Raheem Sterling and Romelu Lukaku, who spent the season on loan at Roma, are both reported to earn £325,000 per week.

Next on the list are two more Man City aces, Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish, alongside Marcus Rashford from United, each earning a cool £300,000 a week. Capping off the top 10, Arsenal’s only representative, Havertz, brings in £280,000 weekly.
