Jarrod Bowen wants to stay at West Ham this summer amid reported interest from Newcastle.

The England international, who is gunning for a place in Gareth Southgate’s final 26-man squad for the European Championships in Germany, is on Eddie Howe’s radar after hitting 20 goals in all competitions this season.

But after signing a bumper contract extension until 2030 last October, Bowen is going nowhere and additionally, West Ham have no interest in a sale as they sweat on the future of Lucas Paqueta after he was charged with breaching FA betting rules.

Bowen feels incredibly settled and both he and his extended family have great affection for the club. He is also viewed as the face of Julen Lopetegui’s ambitious new-look project in east London.

And sources stress he would only likely listen to offers that would enable him to fulfil his Champions League aspirations but even then, leaving West Ham could still prove complex and there are no guarantees he would jump ship.

Liverpool have long admired Bowen as Jurgen Klopp is a huge fan of the prolific forward, who he called his “favourite” player back in December, but interest from the Reds has never materialised.

And at this stage of Bowen’s career, it would take both a life-changing transfer and eye-watering fee to prise him away from the Hammers. Although Newcastle have the Three Lions star on their shortlist, there is also recognition any deal would be incredibly difficult to do.

Mohammed Kudus would likely prove more attainable for any potential suitors after the Ghanaian racked up an impressive 15 goals during his debut season at London Stadium. Though the numbers involved are yet to be disclosed, the former Ajax attacker’s contract is believed to contain a release clause.

New Irons boss Lopetegui wants to execute big plans at West Ham and keeping hold of Bowen and Kudus will undoubtedly prove key to the Spaniard’s success.

He said after being formally unveiled by the Hammers earlier this week: “We came here with the idea and the thought to make a big, big noise. That’s why we came here, and we are excited by this challenge.

“Of course, we are going to do our best to help the club and the team to achieve the best level and to achieve our aims. I assure the fans that they are going to be key in all our achievements.”

Flamengo’s Brazil international centre-back Fabricio Bruno could be the first signing of the new regime.
