Making money in The Forge can feel like quite a slog when you first begin the Roblox RPG.
Money is central to so many things you do in the experience, as it’s crucial if you want to upgrade your gear and buy the best pickaxes in The Forge, and you’ll also need plenty of gold if you want to complete the Goblin King quest and find Tomo’s lost cat. However, when you begin your blacksmithing journey it can feel like earning gold takes ages.

The best way to make money fast in The Forge
The best way to make money in The Forge is to create heavy pieces of armour, and sell them off for a tidy profit. Specifically, you’ll want to create heavy chestplates of a high quality as those fetch good prices when you sell them to Marbles at Stonewake’s Cross, or to Wo on the Forgotten Kingdom.
To create a heavy chestplate, you’ll need around 30 pieces of Ore. If you opt to use more Ores during the forging mini-game though, you’ll increase your chances of getting a heavy chestplate instead of a smaller and less valuable piece of armour. If you mainly use the best Ores in The Forge when crafting, you’ll also end up creating a more expensive piece of armour.
One other thing that can also increase a piece of armour’s value is how well you do in the crafting mini-game. If you ace the mini-game at the forging anvil and create a piece of armour that belongs to the ‘Masterwork’ category, you’ll end up getting more gold when you go to resell it. Thankfully, as we explain in our The Forge guides and tips page, there’s a method you can use that almost guarantees you’ll get a ‘Masterwork’ piece of armour every time you go to craft a new piece of gear.
Other ways to make money fast in The Forge
Creating armour isn’t the only way you can farm money in The Forge. Below you’ll find other ways you can make money fast in the Roblox RPG.
Completing quests
You can earn money in The Forge by simply progressing through the game’s campaign and completing quests. The amount of money you earn varies between quests, with some quests offering more gold than others. The Forge Monkey quest, for instance, offers a generous reward of $10,000 gold when you complete it, but other quests will offer less. Completing quests and progressing through the game will also unlock other ways to make money, which we’ll go into next.
Claim your Index rewards
As you progress through The Forge you’ll unlock more things in the Index menu. This essentially acts like The Forge’s version of the Pokédex, and shows you the Ores you’ve discovered so far, along with the different types of enemies you’ve managed to defeat and the types of armour you’ve created. Every time you’ve done one of these things for the first time, a new entry in the Index will unlock, and there will be a ‘Claim’ button by that entry when it first appears. Click on it to not only reveal the Index entry, but to also earn a bunch of Gold for discovering something new.
Defeat enemies
The Forge doesn’t just reward you with gold when you defeat a new enemy for the first time. Every time you manage to defeat an enemy in the game’s caves, you’ll be rewarded with XP and some gold as well. The amount of gold you get varies, with more in-game cash awarded when the player defeats a powerful enemy. But it means it’s always worthwhile battling a few foes when you go mining, instead of just running past enemies in the caves.
Sell your old pickaxe
As you progress through The Forge, one thing you’ll end up spending a lot of money on is pickaxes. The best pickaxes in The Forge can end up costing a small fortune, and even if you don’t want the very best axe you’ll still have to sink a fair amount of gold into upgrading this piece of equipment. So it’s a good idea to sell any pickaxes you don’t need anymore.
One important thing to point out though is you always need to have at least one pickaxe in your inventory. So you can’t sell your only pickaxe, and then use the funds from that sale to upgrade it. For that reason, we advise always keeping the basic pickaxe you begin the game with. You can sell other pickaxes you have that are more valuable, and use the gold you get to upgrade your gear.
