The Member of Parliament (MP) for Sekondi Constituency Blay Armah Nyameke, has assured his constituents of fulfilling his social contract with them
He said social and economic revival of the Sekondi community would become the order of the day following exciting interests being shown by investors.
To this end, he said the Constituency would receive massive investments to regain its past glory under his watch due to cogent steps being taken to make the area attractive to investors.
The MP was speaking in an interview on the sideline of an investment meeting carried out by his office, Western Regional Coordinating Council (WRCC) led by the Western Regional Minister Hon. Joseph Nelson.
Other key stakeholders who participated in the meeting included his Chinese partners.
The Chinese came in the name of Jiangsu Zhenhuai construction group company limited.
The meeting, was held at the Western Regional Coordinating Council (WRCC) at the behest of the lawmaker who said he was cocksure that following the steps being taken so far, Sekondi, as a vibrant social and economic community, was going to bounce back.
“As we promised, we are going to bring investors to help develop Sekondi. Today, we brought in some investors from China that are going to invest in Sekondi” he said
Explaining the specific role the Chinese investors would play, he said “They are going to rebuild the Sekondi market, and expand the Naval hospital together with the police hospital that we have”
According to the first term MP, “Both hospitals are too small to accommodate patients or to service the growing population”
Aside the aforementioned, he said the Chinese would also consider investing in the Fisheries sector of the local economy considering the fact that fishing is the main stay of the people and mainstream business in Sekondi.
“We brought them to come and invest in the fishing harbour” he announced.
Aside that, Blay Armah Nyameke, said he would live above reproach and fulfill his campaign promises made to the people of Sekondi.
“We also promised you fishing vessels, they are coming. We will deliver them by 2027” the MP who has earned the title “cool running” said.
Meanwhile the Chinese investors, led by Li Gang have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with WRCC led by the Minister Hon. Joseph Nelson.
