Aviva Investors has expanded its global equities team with two senior appointments with a focus on active strategies.

Nicholette MacDonald-Brown joined as global head of active equities, reporting to CIO Daniel McHugh as a part of his senior leadership team. She will oversee the global equities platform, bringing more than two decades’ experience in equity fund management and specialising in sustainability. MacDonald-Brown was previously head of sustainable equities at Lombard Odier Investment Management. Before that, she led European blend equities at Schroders. She began her career at Goldman Sachs Asset Management in 2000.

Investors shun equities amid correction worries

Matt Bennison joined as head of UK active equities, reporting to MacDonald-Brown. He spent 12 years at Schroders, most recently managing over £5bn of UK equity assets across mandates including the Schroder Prime UK Equity fund, Schroder Sustainable UK Equity fund and the Schroder Income Growth Investment Trust.
