A Cumbrian financial management firm is running a series of activities this year in support of mountain rescue.

Financial Management Bureau (FMB), based in Kendal, has chosen Kendal Mountain Rescue Team (KMRT) as its charity of the year and is supporting the team through a series of fundraising events and volunteer activities.

Liz Beavis, managing director at FMB, said: “We identify a designated charity every year.

“Not only is this a great way to support worthwhile local causes but also a valuable opportunity for our team to work together and bond outside of the office.

“Kendal Mountain Rescue Team helps so many people every year and it is a pleasure to give something back.”

Earlier this month, five FMB staff spent a day volunteering at the KMRT base to wash vehicles and help with cleaning and maintenance.

Further support is planned throughout the year, including a sponsored walk, car wash, client event, and additional volunteering.

On June 8, staff will take on the 24-mile Settle Saunter to raise funds, followed by a fundraising car wash on June 27.

FMB will also host an information evening featuring a talk from the mountain rescue team for its clients in October.

Finally, a second volunteering day is set to take place during the Kendal Mountain Festival in November.
