Matthew Mao has rejoined Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton as a partner in the debt finance practice in the New York office, the firm said Monday.
Mao, who will serve the firm’s private equity and sponsor clients, rejoins Cleary from Fanatics Holdings, Inc., where he worked as senior vice president for legal, leading the company’s debt financings and equity investments, according to the firm.
Before joining Fanatics, he served as senior legal director, corporate transactions at Hillspire, LLC, where he led a variety of corporate transactions and initiatives, the firm said.
