The first round of the 2024 NFL Draft included five trades on Thursday night, including the Minnesota Vikings trading up twice and the Buffalo Bills trading down twice. With their two first-round picks, the Vikings selected Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy and Alabama edge defender Dallas Turner.

Fourth-round trades

• Broncos and SeahawksThe first trade of Day 3 happened with the second pick of the fourth round, as the Broncos traded the Nos. 121, 136 and 207 picks to the Seahawks for the Nos. 102 and 235 picks. At No. 102, Denver selected Oregon WR Troy Franklin. At No. 121, Seattle picked Michigan TE AJ Barner.

Packers and Jets: The Packers traded the Nos. 126 and 190 picks to the Jets for the 111th pick. At No. 111, Green Bay selected Oregon S Evan Williams. The Jets subsequently traded the 126th pick to Detroit.

• Dolphins and Eagles: The Dolphins traded a 2025 third-round pick to the Eagles for the 120th pick. At No. 120, Miami selected Tennessee RB Jaylen Wright.

Texans and Eagles: The Texans traded the No. 127 pick and a 2025 fifth-rounder to the Eagles for the 123rd pick. At No. 123, Houston selected Ohio State TE Cade Stover. At No. 127, the Eagles picked Clemson RB Will Shipley.

• Lions and Jets: The Lions traded a 2025 third-round pick to the Jets for the 126th pick. At No. 126, Detroit selected University of British Columbia OT Giovanni Manu.

49ers and Jets: The 49ers traded the Nos. 173 and 176 picks to the Jets for the 129th pick. At No. 129, the 49ers selected Louisville RB Isaac Guerendo.

• Lions and Eagles: The Lions traded the Nos. 164 and 201 picks and a 2025 fourth-rounder to the Eagles for the Nos. 132 and 210 picks. At No. 132, the Lions selected Utah S/RB Sione Vaki.

Third-round trades

• Jets and Panthers: The Jets opened the third round by trading the Nos. 72 and 157 picks to the Panthers for the No. 65 pick. At No. 65, the Jets selected Western Kentucky WR Malachi Corley. At No. 72, Carolina picked Kentucky LB Trevin Wallace.

• Texans and Eagles: The Texans traded the Nos. 86 and 123 picks to the Eagles for the 78th pick. At No. 78, Houston selected USC S Calen Bullock. The Eagles subsequently traded the 86th pick to the 49ers.

Colts and Cardinals: The Colts traded the Nos. 82 and 191 picks to the Cardinals for the 79th pick. At No. 79, Indianapolis selected Pitt OT Matt Goncalves. At No. 82, the Cardinals selected Illinois TE Tip Reiman.

• 49ers and Eagles: The 49ers traded the Nos. 94 and 132 picks to the Eagles for the 86th pick. At No. 86, San Francisco drafted Kansas OT Dominick Puni. At No. 94, Philadelphia picked Houston Christian edge Jalyx Hunt.

Second-round trades

Chargers and Patriots: The Chargers sent the No. 37 pick and a fourth-rounder to the Patriots for the No. 34 pick and a fifth-rounder. With the 34th pick, the Chargers selected Georgia WR Ladd McConkey. At No. 37, the Patriots drafted Washington WR Ja’Lynn Polk.

• Cardinals and Falcons: The Cardinals sent the No. 35 pick and a sixth-round pick to Atlanta for pick No. 43 and a third-round pick. With the 35th pick, Atlanta selected Clemson DT Ruke Orhorhoro. At No. 43, Arizona picked Rutgers CB Max Melton.

• Rams and Panthers: The Rams traded the No. 52 pick, a fifth-rounder and a 2025 second-round pick to the Panthers for the No. 39 pick. At No. 39, the Rams selected Florida State DT Braden Fiske. The Panthers subsequently traded the 52nd pick to Indianapolis.

• Eagles and Commanders: The Eagles traded the Nos. 50, 53 and 161 picks to the Commanders for the Nos. 40, 78 and 152 picks. At No. 40, the Eagles selected Iowa CB Cooper DeJean. With the 50th pick, the Commanders picked Michigan DB Mike Sainristil.

Saints and Packers: The Saints traded the Nos. 45, 168 and 190 picks to the Packers for the 41st pick. At No. 41, the Saints picked Alabama CB Kool-Aid McKinstry. With the 45th pick, the Packs took Texas A&M LB Edgerrin Cooper.

 Panthers and Colts: The Panthers traded the Nos. 52, 142 and 155 picks to the Colts for the No. 46 pick. At No. 46, Carolina drafted Texas RB Jonathon Brooks. At No. 52, the Colts picked Texas WR Adonai Mitchell.

Chiefs and 49ers: The Chiefs moved up one spot, trading the Nos. 64 and 173 picks to the 49ers for the Nos. 63 and 211 picks. At No. 63, the Chiefs selected BYU OT Kingsley Suamataia. With the last pick in the second round at No. 64, the 49ers took Florida State CB Renardo Green.

First-round trades

• Vikings and Jets: The Vikings moved up one spot, trading the No. 11, No. 129 (fourth round) and No. 157 (fifth round) picks to the Jets for the No. 10 and No. 203 (sixth round) picks. With the No. 10 pick, Minnesota selected Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy. With the No. 11 pick, the Jets took tackle Olu Fashanu from Penn State.

• Vikings and JaguarsThe Vikings, who entered Thursday with a pair of first-round picks, traded up a second time, sending the No. 23 pick, a 2024 fifth-rounder and 2025 third- and fourth-rounders to the Jaguars for the No. 17 pick. At No. 17, the Vikings took Alabama edge Dallas Turner. The Jaguars took LSU wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. with the No. 23 pick.

• Lions and Cowboys: The Lions traded up five spots, sending the No. 29 pick and a third-round pick to the Cowboys for the No. 24 pick and a 2025 seventh-rounder. At No. 24, Detroit selected Alabama CB Terrion Arnold. With the No. 29 pick, Dallas selected Oklahoma tackle Tyler Guyton.

• Chiefs and Bills: The Chiefs traded the No. 32 pick in the first round, plus third- and seventh-round picks, to the Bills for the No. 28 pick and a fourth- and seventh-rounder. At No. 28, the Chiefs picked Texas WR Xavier Worthy.

• Panthers and Bills: The Bills traded back a second time, allowing the Panthers to move into the first round. Carolina sent the No. 33 pick and a fifth-rounder to Buffalo for the No. 32 pick and a sixth-rounder. With the 32nd pick, the Panthers selected South Carolina WR Xavier Legette.

Pre-draft trades involving first-round picks

1. Bears (from Panthers)

The Bears traded back from No. 1 last year, sending the pick to Carolina (which drafted QB Bryce Young) for 2023 first- and second-round picks, receiver D.J. Moore and its 2024 first-round pick, which turned out to be No. 1. It put the Bears in position to take USC quarterback Caleb Williams on Thursday after moving on from Justin Fields, who they traded to the Steelers.

23. Vikings (from Browns via Texans)

In March 2022, the Texans traded QB Deshaun Watson and a 2024 fifth-round pick to the Browns for first-round picks in 2022, 2023 and 2024, plus a 2023 third-round pick and a 2024 fourth-round pick. Last month, the Texans sent that 2024 first-round pick, at No. 23, and a seventh-rounder to the Vikings for a 2024 second-rounder (No. 42), a sixth-rounder and a 2025 second-rounder.

27. Cardinals (from Texans)

During last year’s draft, the Texans moved up to No. 3 to draft defensive end Will Anderson Jr. and received a fourth-round pick, while sending the No. 12 and No. 33 picks in the 2023 draft and 2024 first- and third-round picks to the Cardinals.
