Now in its 33rd edition, banks from over 150 countries and regions were assessed by the awards program based on criteria such as profitability, growth, strategic vision, innovation capacity and ability to respond to customer needs.

For Garanti BBVA CEO Mahmut Akten, this award reflects Garanti BBVA’s strong financial performance and its efforts to create value “for both our country and our customers.” The bank holds a leading position for Turkish lira loans and has played a pioneering role in credit cards and customer financing.

Furthermore, Garanti BBVA has a total customer base of more than 30 million, with over 18 million active mobile users. “Digital banking is at the heart of our growth strategy,“ he explained, adding: “Today, 89 percent of our retail sales take place on digital channels, underscoring the scale of this transformation.”

Sustainability also remains a key driver of growth for the bank. It continues to work toward its target of channeling 3.5 trillion TL into sustainable finance between 2018 and 2029, while contributing to inclusive growth through the financial support provided to women entrepreneurs.

For Garanti BBVA, customer needs are placed at the center of everything, in line with its Radical Client Perspective approach. “We focus on empathy, personalization and a seamless experience and continue to transform the customer experience with artificial intelligence and data-driven technologies,” Mahmut Akten said.

The CEO expressed his pride in being named Türkiye’s best bank and thanked all Garanti BBVA’s colleagues who contributed to this success and its customers for placing their trust in the bank. “We set out on this path by saying ‘We Do It Together,’ and we will continue working with the same determination to create value for our country and our customers,” he concluded.
